We are currently looking for a Government Affairs Coordinator to join us in our mission to save lives and prevent injuries.
Position Highlights:
The Government Affairs Coordinator is part of a dynamic team that supports and leads, where appropriate, NSC Government Affairs initiatives at the federal and state levels. Serves as Government Affairs lead on designated NSC priorities. Provides representation at meetings with legislators and their staff, government officials, partner organizations, and others. Works with NSC team members across a range of functions to advance safety issues for policy and advocacy development. Researches and drafts NSC policy position statements on relevant safety issues.

What You’ll Do:
Support policy development and engagement with policymakers on Capitol Hill, at federal agencies, and in state and local bodies – 30%

- Aid in the management of a DC office suite and clerical needs as appropriate, including coordinating Government Affairs operations and resources.
- Aid in scheduling meetings for Government Affairs team members and other NSC stakeholders with key external targets.
- Lead planning and execution of major events, such as NSC-led fly-ins to Congress and Hill briefings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant area with a minimum of 2 years of experience in public policy, lobbying, or advancing advocacy initiatives.
- Experience working in a Capitol Hill office preferred.
- Experience in transportation or workplace safety policy preferred.
- Must be motivated and mission-driven with an eagerness to take initiative on a wide range of matters, from policy development to housekeeping tasks.
- Salary for this role is $80,000.
- This is a hybrid/remote position for the DC Metro area.
